First, a little about me. My name is Lexie Wach and I'm a college student at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I'm studying philosophy with a focus in law. I would love to be a lawyer some day, but most likely I'll end up in sales like everyone else in my generation with a BA.
Alex and I at a wedding
My extremely supportive boyfriend is named Alex. He treats me like a princess and always pushes me to pursue what I love. He isn't the most creative person when it comes to DIY stuff and arts and crafts, but he encourages my creativity because he knows it makes me happy. Alex and I are the proud parents of two children: Bear and Goku. Bear is almost two years old and Goku is three months old. They are the most beautiful babies and they are all mine. We are such proud parents--our babies are the world to us.
My Babies: Goku and Bear
Now about the blog:
I love cooking. I'm always creating new concoctions in the kitchen. I'm also always making crafts and projects for friends and family. I'm not the type to buy gifts and I'd rather just make something for someone I love.Often times I find myself texting pictures with instructions of my projects to friends and family who want to know how to replicate them. Alex suggested that it would be easier for friends and family if they just had a website to go to. He said that if I like blogging and get passionate about it he can help me find a way to make money blogging. Like I said, he is extremely supportive and he said he would be so happy if I could make money doing something I love.
This blog isn't going to just be recipes. I'm going to have other projects too. I'm going to have photos helping explain step by step (or as step by step as I can get) how to complete projects. There is nothing I hate more than going to a website to learn to do a craft of some sort and only getting vague descriptions. This blog could be called crafts for dummies. Even the most novice of all beginners will be able to keep up.
I'm truly passionate about my creativity. I love to escape to the right brain and have a creative outlet. Doing projects is extremely therapeutic for me. When I create something I feel like I have a purpose. The best thing about projects is taking creative liberty. Vanilla ice cream is a great base, but a little orange liquor, candied orange peel, and chocolate shavings take the dessert to a new level. Even something small like adding almond extract instead of vanilla extract can turn a fruit dip from good to WOW!
Hopefully this blog will help people create as well as give people ideas for their own projects. Please let me know what you end up creating. If you have any questions or would like to tell me how your experience with the project went I would love comments. I would also love to see pictures of your own finished products.
Stay tuned for the first project of the day!
